ABOUT TRANSFER STUDENT SERVICES (TSS)

Transfer Student Services (TSS) is a program within UCIrvine's Division of Undergraduate Education (DUE). The program was begun in recognition of the fact that transfer students frequently have special circumstances that place unusual demands on their time and call for specialized assistance. The primary role of TSS is to help transfer students quickly locate appropriate sources of advice and other services relevant to their educational and student life needs.

In Fall 2007 we opened the new Transfer Student Center and Lounge, providing new and continuing transfer students with what we like to call their "home away from home" at UCIrvine. Transfer students are able to use the lounge resources, including a refrigerator, microwave, computers, a printer, two private study rooms and take advantage of our comprehensive resource center. TSS also provides counselors and transfer mentors, as well as orientation workshops, to assist transfer students with their transition to our campus.

Please feel free to browse our website for information to assist you. Use the navigation bar at the top of the page to guide you as I have separated information for newly admitted and current transfer students from information relevant primarily to prospective transfer students. If you are a prospective transfer student, please read the section for prospective transfers prior to contacting TSS so you clearly understand how our role at UCIrvine differs from that of our Office of Admissions.

Welcome to the TSS website and to UCIrvine!

Best,
Shelly Brown-Gunn, M.A.
Coordinator, Transfer Student Services
