Yes, you need to use your UCI email account for UCI business. You are responsible for announcements and course materials sent to you via your UCI email account. In addition, many academic counselors and professors will not answer email from an email address other than @uci.edu so make sure you not only receive your UCI email, but that you are sending from that account as well.

UCI just set up a new way for students to collect their email online (similar to using Hotmail or Yahoo). The service is called Webmail. Click here to go to the Webmail site. Use your UCINetID and password to gain access to your email.
