Are tutoring services available to UCI transfer students?
Yes! UCI's Division of Undergraduate Education provides tutoring to students through the Learning and Academic Resource Center (LARC). LARC provides academic support to help students acquire the skills they need to develop intellectually, become successful learners, and achieve their academic and professional goals. LARC staff assist students in course-specific and skills-based areas through a combination of adjunct classes, workshops, individual counseling, and peer tutoring. Visit their web site for detailed information on how they can assist you.
The LARC schedule is available at the beginning of each quarter. It includes dates, times and locations of all classes, adjuncts, tutorials and workshops. Students may enroll via WebReg during the first week of instruction (enrollment closes at the end of the sixth week). A complete listing and schedule of LARC services is also available on their web site (click on the link above). LARC Tutoring Services is located on the fourth floor of Social Sciences Tower (SST) and their telephone number is (949) 824-7026.
UCI also offers tutoring assistance to students with disabilities. Visit the Disability Services web site for information about their services. Many academic units offer tutoring as well. Check with your academic counselor to find out what is available to you.
